Tour Through Coyoacán
Coyoacán has so much history. It was once an important Indigenous settlement and later became Hernán Cortés’ headquarters after the Spanish conquest.
We took a guided bike tour through the neighborhood, exploring its colorful streets, centuries-old plazas and churches, while learning more about Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera, who called this neighborhood home. And, of course, we had to stop along the way to try some of the local street food and markets.
Such a fun way to experience a different side of Mexico City, and easily one of the highlights of our 2025 travels.
Museo Frida Kahlo
We love FRIDA!
We definitely recommend watching Frida, the biopic starring Salma Hayek, before visiting. It gives you so much more context about her life and makes the experience even more meaningful.
The museum doesn’t actually have a ton of her artwork. It’s more about getting a glimpse into the home where Frida lived with her family and learning more about her life. There’s also a collection of her clothing on display, including the dress she wore on the cover of Vogue.
Definitely buy your tickets early. This is a super popular spot and tends to sell out!
PALACIO DE BELLAS ARTES
Mexico City's most iconic landmarks. Stunning architecture and HUGE Diego Rivera murals inside. Highly recommended if you are in the Centro area.

Museo de Antropología, Mexico
Highly recommend the Museum of Anthropology. It gives you so much context for everything you’ve been seeing around Mexico City and a much deeper understanding of Mexico’s Indigenous history and the civilizations that shaped the country.
It also goes way beyond Mexico, covering human evolution, migration, and how people made their way across the world. Seeing it all laid out and realizing just how far back this history goes is pretty mind blowing.
There is A LOT to see, so give yourself plenty of time. Definitely one of those places that sticks with you long after you leave.
